What’s the difference between window decal types – vinyl, perforated and cling window decals?
The biggest difference between these decals is the material used.
Vinyl window decals: Our most popular signage option. Designed to last in extreme temperatures. Best for indoor and outdoor use.
Perforated window decals: Provides privacy on busy streets. Outside glass only. Best for outdoor use.
Window cling decals: Adhesive free. Recommended for short-term use such as seasonable sales, special offers and new products. Indoor use only.
Do you offer custom sizes or shapes for my business window decals?
Yes, we do. In addition to offering our standard square and rectangular shapes, you can now upload a custom one. You can design your custom shape to fit an area small as 5″ x 5″ or as large as 36″ x 48″.
Are inside-glass and second surface the same thing?
Yes. Inside-glass decals are also known as second surface custom window decals. Similarly, outside-glass decals are sometimes referred to as first surface decals.
What’s the best way to apply my window decals?
We recommend the “wet application” method:
- CLEAN: Make sure your window is clear of dust or particles.
- APPLY: Peel your decal off the backing before you place it on the window.
- SQUEEGEE: Use a squeegee, ruler or other object with a hard, flat edge to smooth out the decal. Start from the center and work out to the edges.
Can I reposition vinyl window decals?
Yes. To reposition your decal, just peel it off the glass and follow the steps outlined in our application guide above.
Will these vinyl window stickers work on non-glass surfaces?
We don’t recommend it. Our window decals are designed for use on flat glass.
Can I use my window decals for my business at different events?
We don’t recommend doing so. While our vinyl window decals can be repositioned easily, transporting and storing them for events can lead to dust and debris, which causes bubbling.
What are your custom window decals made of?
These window decals are made of premium vinyl material with a clear gloss finish. They are weather resistant and semi-permanent, but the adhesive allows for residue-free removal. We also have other decals such as window clings and perforated for different uses.
Do you recommend a specific application temperature range?
Yes – We recommend applying your vinyl adhesive in mild weather. Still, our decals can resist temperatures from -40° F to 225° F.

What type of files will you accept?
We recommend vector-based .PDF design files. Most major design applications can generate a print-ready .PDF by using the Save As feature and selecting “Adobe PDF.” If you are unable to obtain a .PDF file for your design, the best are those in .EPS or .AI (CS3 or higher) format with all text converted to outlines.
